Top conservative would dread a Bush vs. Rubio race

Cuban native and chairman of the ACU talks to CNN'S Paul Steinhauser about a potential 2016 matchup between his close friends, Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio.

"I'd love them both. They're probably the two politicians I know the best, and go back with the best. I'd love for either one of them to run and I'd hate for both of them to run."

Cardenas also urged the GOP to embrace some form of immigration reform.

"I have very little appetite for those contrarians who criticize the idea at the beginning of the journey and don't bother to offer any ideas or thoughts or fixes on their own. To me that's just political posturing and not elevating the discourse on something important that should be."

(BTW, a quick FYI to CYA if you ever get in a convo about Rubio: he got his serious start in politics when he interviewed with Cardenas to help out Bob Dole's Florida campaign in 1996).
