Here's what you need to know about the 2016 race as you embrace the day.

Republicans:

a. Bob McDonnell pushes for abortion tweak in health insurance exchange; he also signs a voter photo ID law. 

b. Ted Cruz affirms personal opposition to same-sex marriage.

c. Jeb Bush won't think about 2016 decision for "another year, at least."

d. Democrats accuse Ted Cruz of flip-flopping on guns.

e. Bobby Jindal's tax proposal gets rid of a sales tax holiday for gun purchases.

f. Scott Walker's book will be called Unintiminated: A Governor's Story and a Nation's Challenge.

g. The guy behind "unskewed polls" likes the idea of Rand Paul and Ben Carson.

Democrats:
