The Columbus Dispatch has a pretty interesting read on likely incoming Ohio GOP chair, Matt Borges.
Borges is, apparently, unhappy with Josh Mandel and other state conservatives who've hit Gov. John Kasich over Medicaid expansion.
Borges appears to be following that strategy, saying he has had “very tough” conversations with Mandel and Yost:
“Since those conversations, you haven’t heard much from Josh or Dave about criticizing the governor.”
As the article notes, Ohio is an interesting puppy.
Republicans own the governorship, legislature, and one of the two U.S. Senate seats, but Borges comes in facing a party in relative disarray despite its electoral success.
Much of that dysfunction comes from a growing rift between tea partiers and state party elders.
